How to Process Wool

Making Up

Making-up is the process by which individual components of a garment are assembled and sewn together.

Final assemblage Making-Up

When making-up a product, customer satisfaction and a garment's inherent value are affected by the care with which this is done.

When wool garments are being made up an understanding how wool behaves during and after making up is important due to the unique fibre characteristics of wool fabric.

Avoiding problems such as cockling (the distortion of knitted loops), spirality (skewing of structure), facing-up (unwanted surface fibres), and surface wrinkling ensure that the finished garment meets and exceeds consumer expectations for its entire life.
